CARTIER CRISTALLOR WHITE GOLD

In 1972, Cartier entered a new era when a consortium of investors bought out Cartier Paris, followed by the New York and London branches, reuniting under one umbrella. Soon after in 1973, Cartier released the Louis Cartier Collection. This was a selection of twelve different models, some historic and some brand new, that would be serially produced. One of the new designs they would release was the Cristallor, which has a triple-stepped rectangular case with cut corners and hidden lugs. It would continue to be produced in low numbers until the early 80’s, in two different sizes and the vast majority in yellow gold.

This wonderful example we have here comes in 18k white gold, which is extremely rare and hard to find. It has the familiar white dial, with black Roman numerals, chemin de fer minute track and is signed ‘PARIS’. Also, the classic bright blue cabochon crown. It’s fitted with a period ‘must de Cartier’ black leather strap and has it’s original white gold deployment clasp.
