The King Midas is one of the most distinct and captivating models to ever come from Rolex. Introduced in 1962, it was the heaviest gold watch available on the market, having been crafted from a single piece of solid 18k gold. The design was led by the famous Gérald Genta and included features such as the left hand crown, a reference to the legend of King Midas’ left hand turning all to gold, and the triangular edge drawing inspiration from the Pantheon.

This ref.4015 maintains these mythical design features, but as an evolution of the original it also differs. It has a ribbed gold case, a captivating red mirrored dial and a more understated brown leather strap. The watch is a fabulous example of 70’s design and a fun diversion from the norm for Rolex.
